I am Xicana and GuateMaya (Maya Kaqchikel) raised in diaspora. I am a fiber artist and love creating and playing with fibers and natural dyes as a way of connecting to my community and lineages. A lot of my art and writing reflects themes of home, be it the borderlands where I was born or raised, or my maternal and paternal homelands in Central America. When I'm not working with fibers, I like to write stories.
I wander the woods with my dogs Marin and Kauai almost every day.
Sometimes you can find me on Instagram: @theblueweaver.
I write because I woke up from a dream where my Apa told me he was disappointed I wasn't writing. I write because I once read a book that changed everything. I write because stories helped me through some of the hardest years of my life. I write because sometimes I slip through time when I dream and the stories follow me back.
